The value for money at Nicol'S was excellent, with a spacious and comfortable room that had a beautiful view of the sea. The location was great, away from the city but still easily accessible by bus, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast option could use improvement with a more diverse selection.

The hotel is situated high up on cliffs overlooking the sea. We were travelling with 3 dogs and this was a fabulous location to allow the dogs to run off their energy. The restaurant offered good Basque food and ended a pleasant day without having to find somewhere else to eat.

Very nice view from the hotel: looking out on the coast. Good facilities and very helpful staff. San Sebastian is close by but you are in the middle of a very nice country side environment.
Dogs are also allowed which can cause some noice during the night and early in the morning.

Territory of the hotel
Rooms were not cleaned up well, noisy sanitary engineering. It is too far for walking to the center

Staff so pleasant. Bus trip into town very convenient and lovely trip. Great for little one due to the swings and the fish pond. Breakfast good.

I had a lovely short stay at a budget hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. I also appreciated the free secure parking. The hotel was a little hard to find at first, but after a quick phone call to the hotel, they guided me to the right location.

The outside area.
We booked a double room & were given a twin. The room did not have any ventilation. The shower was tiny & dangerous due to the step & slope of the floor in the shower. The breakfast food was very limited. Insufficient tables for all guests during breakfast. The room was very noisy.

Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Reasonably quiet semi rural location. Good sized car park. Although only 2km from city it would be impractical to walk into town and back owing to the very hilly terrain. However, there is a bus stop a short walk away and a frequent bus service which runs until 22.00 (later in summer) if you don't want to drive into town.
We found the bed rather uncomfortable. No hairdrier was provided (perhaps we should have asked if one was available). Noise from the kitchen below did not allow us to get an early night's sleep.

The hotel is in a very pretty but remote area
There were no other restauarants nearby and the food in the hotel was poor

Spacious comfortable room with lovely views. the location was a bit out of town, but there was free parking available on weekends, making it easy to walk to town without needing to use the bus. the breakfast was good and they were able to provide gluten-free bread upon request.
The hotel was further from the beach than it appeared in the photos, so catching the bus into town and back, especially at night, was a bit inconvenient. the walk up to the hotel from the bus stop was also in pitch darkness, which made it a bit scary.

Outside of the hustle of San Sebastian but still close enough to access the sights. The batman/restaurateur was very helpful though there were some communication problems. The room with windows that opened towards the sea was pleasant. The large, free parking area was good.
Things are getting a bit worn and the grounds need a bit of intensive maintenance - there is huge potential that is not being fully exploited. The WiFi strength is a bit hit & miss at times. However, despite the negatives we would stay there again.
